Memories from Childhood
Oh wow! I am so sleepy. I think it's because I haven't had my first sip of coffee for the day. How stupid of me to have left my Starbucks tumbler at home. Now I'm palpitating.
Anyway, I just remembered some of the things that made me tick as a kid. Wappy and I were always together. We were known as the two chubby but absolutely adorable kids who were the niece and the nephew of the well-loved Ms. Vicky Chan. Because of that, we spent everyday of our lives after school playing in her room, jumping on the bed, eating her chocolates, cutting up her papers, watching the only kid's show she had on betamax (Disney's short stories), and attending all of her friends' kids' birthday parties.
I remember us pretending that we were classmates in kinder, trying to fool his yaya, to the point of confusing ourselves into believing that we really were classmates.
I remember running up the hill at the back of Forbes after waking up from siesta and pretending that I was Cindle and he was Wicket while laughing at the most bizarre scenario in Ewoks. After watching that scene recently, I wonder why we even thought it was funny because it isn't.
I remember playing in the living room in Forbes, amidst the newly upholstered sofas and lalique vases, pretending we were contestants in double dare. We were twins and our names were Michael and Michelle. When Bam started playing this with us, she became Mitch. Talk about "pilit". We would crawl our way under the marble table, climb the sofas, and dive into the carpet - our pool of slime.
I remember attending this birthday party in Magallanes wherein Wap was asked by the clown to go up front for a magic trick. Cookie the Clown drew him on some kind of magic slate then all of a sudden it starts talking and moving its eyes. To date, we still puzzle over how this trick was done.
I remember us going trick or treat together. I was Batgirl and Wappy was Robin. We were so cute; and the chubbiest superheroes ever.
