Walang Pasok

Yeah! Me! Walang pasok! And it's the 2nd day in a row. Feels like college without the homework and readings and stuff. It's just me, coffee, oreo, and 24 season 4. And well, Ate watching with me with more oreo and milk.

About 24, we're so so so happy! Tony's back and so's Michelle! Wah! We're just waiting for Chloe's return and our team will be back on track. Haha! Feeling part of the team. This is better than season 3, which was too emotional and just too much.

Anyway, back to my scheduled programming of 24.

To Heal and Be Healed

I've been threatening to cry all morning because of an issue that came up the night before. Blasted people who think they know what they're talking about. Maybe they're the ones into acquiring power.

After talking to Tita Tina, I finally cried... tears of happiness and satisfaction, because what I've been doing to help people is a good thing. What's most important is that people feel good after, and because of that I do too. Tita Tina's such a good person, such a blessing, that God should bless her some more.

Just some words that came to me in different forms and really hit the spot...

"The strongest oak tree in the forest is not the one that is protected from the storm and hidden from the sun. It's the one that stands in the open where it is compelled to struggle for its existence against the winds, rains and the scorching sun."
--

"There can be miracles when you believe. Though hope is frail it's hard to kill. Who knows what miracles you can achieve. When you believe somehow you will. You will when you believe."
--

"All good gifts around us are sent from heaven above. So thank the Lord, thank the Lord for all His love."
--

"We secure ourselves against the storms of life by grounding ourselves in the Word of God. We don't need to understand, we just need to hold His hand to have peace in the middle of storms."
--

"And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague." (Mark 5: 25-34)

A Night With Michaela at Fully Booked

Last Saturday was The FIRST Philippine Graphic/Fiction Awards at the Rockwell tent, hosted by Neil Gaiman. We (Bam, Hope and I) were there because Ma. Michaela Atienza was a finalist at the prose category.

But first off, we met Arnold Arre! Haha! Yeah, we did! And it was even such a comedy since we were told that Mr. Arre was in red and his wife was in pink, if we wanted to get an autograph. So we've been asking people around if they knew who he was, which apparently only one person did... the one who told us. Suddenly, while getting rid of Mikey's jitters, we see this guy in red approaching the action figures section with his wife who was in pink. And Hope runs to ask for his autograph. Simultaneously, the one who told us brings Arnold Arre and wife to us for an autograph. Haha! Poor Hope! A comedy of sorts.

Time for the awards! 6 finalists, only 4 winners. And well, 4 honorable mentions. And who cares about the rest because MIKEY WON 3RD PLACE!!! Which means Mikey will treat VOSA to dinner! Yay! Or to make it fair, she can treat only those who were present to see her go up the stage, get photographed with her giant dreamcatcher for some magazine, and get interviewed for Hero TV. Mikey's a star! Oh! And Neil Gaiman said that Mikey's work was "beautiful written". Did not say that about the other works. Had he judged, Mikey would have won FIRST, which the rest of the Fully Booked staff agreed should have happened. They said that for them, "Atha was a runaway!"

Superman Rocks!

Yesterday was my first time at Mall of Asia. Hmmm... Yeah, I liked it. But it's too huge and too overwhelming. I still prefer my friendly neighbor, Podium. I also kinda don't like the smell. It smells pretty much like cement and salt water combined. But it's ok. I'd probably go back there for Elianto, that new and nice looking Korean make-up, bath stuff, and facial products store. Oh! And maybe Spiderman if it comes out in I-max.

Speaking of I-max, we watched Superman last night. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Brandon Routh is just.... Basta! Christopher Reeve is blech! And Dean Cain, though he's still my ultimate crush from first year high school is talsik compared to Brandon Routh. Ayan! There! I admitted it! He is just the cutest, cutest, cutest....

Ok, about the movie... Ang galeng! Yun lang, the screen is so enormous and it's 3D in some parts (the medyo action parts) that I found it a bit stressful, especially since there's a lot of water involved. And I thought the story pretty sad. Aw! The end where he was talking to the kid. Aw! Sob!

But Brandon Routh... is just the cutest... Bam is ready to whack me!

Two-day Birthday and Matteo's Baptism

This birthday was a fun one, better than last year. For one, it started on Saturday. And it was an eating fest with friends and family so I'm sure I gained weight this weekend. By the way, if I don't make sense, that's because I'm still sleepy from doing "I Spy".

Saturday, pre-birthday, I took Mikey, Mars and Bam to lunch at Omakase. Sayang Faye and Mike had class so it was just us. We ate all sushi which were out of the ordinary sushis. Afterwhich we spent a bit of time browsing through the book of Booktopia. I love that store. Then spent the rest of our time eating cake and drinking coffee at the new Starbucks in Corinthian Hills. Then it was time for mass where Andy is just the best as ever. And the VOSA girls and Tita Desiree are just the sweetest as ever.

More eating came after dinner with the family. I chose Amichi. I know it's a cafeteria and all that but I had never been there and was after the food, which I loved. And then the ambience part came when we resumed with coffee at Peninsula. Ate treated. We waited til 12 and they gave me a cake.

Sunday, my real birthday, was also Matteo's baptism. My first time to be a Ninang. But the poor baby couldn't be at the party after since he got a fever the night before. We all just spent time with him after. But the food was great again, catered by Conti's, and the chocolate fountain was just yum! And all my cousins were just so sweet, they made sure I still felt my birthday in spite of it being the party for Matteo's baptism. And Macie was just so cute! She sang Happy Birthday for me on a little stage in her parents room with her toy microphone.

Long Weekend

I liked this weekend. Thanks to Mayor Eusebio, I had no work this Monday so Ate and I were freeeeee.

Saturday was good since we had sisterly bonding time at the Nail spa. Then VOSA time was pretty pleasant too.

Sunday, we blessed the new Starbucks at Corinthian Hills. It's the 100th outlet in the Philippines. I like that Starbucks. It's cozier than the others, there are a lot of those nice fluffy chairs and there are even chair for kids as young as Macie (get them while they're still small!). The lighting is really nice and there's a lot of glass all around so you can see the view of Temple Drive and this new Italian restaurant with food that looks really good. Since it was major study time for Wappy and Bam, I pretended to be studying too. Hehe! I finished reading Steve Berry's "The Third Secret". Very disturbing. I cannot possibly fathom a evil popes, priests with sexual relations, priests allowing abortion, etc, and all that done by princes of the church.

Monday was total relaxation day. Ate and I spent the morning staring at Matteo, played with Macie when she came home from school, and had lunch at Kuya's house. I love that house! Then we got coffee at the Starbucks in Corinthian Hills again after picking Bam from school. Then I finally got my long delayed foot spa. I wish all days were like these!
