Life Lessons from Neopets
It's been a while since I've had anything decent to write about here. Most of the thoughts encircling my head are for the benefit of my beloved neopet, or wedding related. However, I have learned something valuable from this severe neopet addiction. Taking care of a Neopet is like having the responsibility of taking care of a child.
1. You have to earn money to feed it. No matter how sick you are of your job (aka playing games) you just have to endure it to put food on the table.
2. It's difficult to be a student parent with a lousy internet connection. Bam can't even play games at home so Tita Caren has to earn neopoints to put in Bam's account and make sure Libis the Meerca is properly cared for.
3. It's expensive to send a child to school. Likewise with the Neopet. One dubloon is hard to find and the exchange rate ranges from 120,000 to 222,000 neopoints. Ouch!
4. No matter how virtual neopet shopping is compared to real life shopping, one should never underestimate the "tawad" power. Believe it or not, I can get away with a 40% discount at a neopet store.
5. And even though you try to be as cheap as can be just to keep building up the neopet bank account, you still want to give it the best stuff, rest and relaxation, and a home.
