Duped
With all the crazy things going on in this country I can't believe I, along with hundreds of other people, were duped into panicking over a stupid text message from one Sister Reodica who "predicted" that an intensity 9 earthquake will rock Metro Manila on April 14 at 5 pm... that and an email from some guy who said a "psychic" (whose name he omitted for confidentiality-yeah right!) foresaw one of the same intensity for April 13 while he was in Japan.
It was an embarrasing thing, really. I actually had an escape plan since I didn't want to leave my archery bag in the office just in case it collapsed. And there was Ate Pebs, and the rest of the HSBC staff, at the 29th floor of Discovery Center who made excuses that they were going to withdraw money at the lobby or meet clients who didn't want to go up anymore. At 5 pm, they all saw each other downstairs waiting for something to happen.
Of course, we all should have known that this would most likely be some ploy of the cellular companies to earn money from text messaging - not funny at all! Even worse, it could be that nun's pledge to ask people to pray and give alms. Nice try Sister Reodica! We don't even know who you are, or from what congregation you come form, or if you even really exist. If you didn't have the title "Sister" along with your name, I'd say "Go to hell!"
